Weʼve raised £2,630 to support ICAN - a speech and language organisation which works with children to fulfil their potential.

Funded on Tuesday, 3rd September 2019

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

We are doing the Blenheim triathlon on June 1st and fundraising in memory of Julia Peto. Julia was our sister, daughter and friend who was tragically killed in a road accident last year. Julia was 27 and training to be a speech and language therapist.

We have decided to raise money for ICAN - an organisation which provides speech, language and communication support for kids. ICAN's work includes running an enquiry service for parents & carers, running specialist schools and creating online resources. You can find out more about their work here: https://www.ican.org.uk/

For many of us this will be our first triathlon and swimming, cycling and running in Julia's memory will help spur us on. If you can spare a penny or two for ICAN we would be very grateful. Thank you!

This is a message from Fra: Hello! Thank you all so much for your extremely generous contributions for I CAN and in memory of Julia. This generosity will go a small way towards the realising the huge contribution that Jupes would have had on the lives of children as a speech therapist....

... She was the sporty one. I was known as 'slug'. On my (quite slow) practice runs I can hear her laughing at how red I am, see her cycling way ahead of me on the bike path and overtaking me easily in the swimming lane...no doubt she would have helped drag me across the finishing line on June 1st having already done it twice! Picturing her face will spur me on. From both love and competitiveness... Thank you again! Fra xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
