Story
Hello, we are Angela and Jean (aka the Blister Sisters) and on the 17th of August we are doing a ‘virtual walk’ from Edinburgh to South Shields (122 mile!) with a little help from our friends. What is a virtual walk? So, basically from the comfort (won’t be saying that on the day…) of the Trimmers Arms we will be walking on treadmills for 24 hours to cover the distance, with pledgers giving us a hand along the way, a real team event!
‘Blister Sisters you are crazy why would you do this?!’
Easy, it’s for charity of course! We have chosen two causes very close to our hearts to raise money for!
First the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust. As you may know Chloe and Liam were a beautiful young couple who were tragically murdered in the Manchester Arena attack in 2017, following this tragedy their amazing families created the Together Forever Trust in their memory to help young people achieve their goals in Performing Arts and Sport. The second cause is Jack’s Classroom in Tanzania. Angela unfortunately lost her cousin’s son in 2014 due to anaphylactic shock while on an exhibition in Tanzania with his school at just 18. Jack’s family decided to continue Jack’s work by building a classroom in Tanzania and are currently funding a communal garden to help the village Jack spent his time in. All money raised will be split between these two causes, 75% going to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust and 25% to Jack’s Classroom.
But that’s not all we will be making it a family fun day! There will be performances throughout the day (more about that closer to the time), raffles, cake sales, blind cards, name the bear, and more! It is going to be a great day all round, then on the night we will be kept going by the amazing sound of Wet Bandits.
So if you want to pop out for something for the kids in the midst of that long summer holiday, just fancy popping in for a cake and a pint or just want to see two normal middle aged women doing something a bit different pop the 17th of August in your diary!
Or if you can't make it or would like to sponsor us this is the place for you!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page!
Hope to see you there,
The Blister Sisters xx
