I've raised £1999 to buy "Blood Warmers" for NHS Derby Hospital to help patients like my daughter with Cold Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia & other rare conditions

My daughter is currently recovering from a rare and life-threatening condition called Cold Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (Cold AIHA) at Derby & Burton Hospitals, part of the Derbyshire NHS system.
In Cold AIHA and other critical conditions, blood transfusions must be warmed to prevent dangerous complications. Sadly, blood warmers are in short supply, so are often hard to find or being used else where in the hospital, so having more of these life-saving machines available across the wards or ideally one for renal, one for ICU and one for HDU would significantly reduce risks for patients receiving urgent transfusions or dialysis. Our daughter has needed over 16 units of blood so far, each needs warming, but if the warming machine is busy, she must wait. Every hospital needs more of these simple but life saving device.
Below are links to the Blood Warming machines we have used at NHS Derby & Burton, but most of the time are being used else where, simply because the whole hospital may only have 3 or 4 of them.

So, we’re raising money to buy additional blood-warming devices for the Derby area hospitals, so more patients can be treated safely and quickly, without delays or dangerous side effects. These machines can last for many many years and will help countless patients.
We're talking directly with the distributer/supplier of the blood warmers to get the best deal we can for the Hospital.
Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to saving a life when it matters most.
Thank you for helping make our NHS stronger and safer.
