Myself and Colin wanted to give back to the amazing Midwives on the Blossom Suite unit at Broomfield Hospital, so we have decided to embark on a mission to raise money and also awareness for this amazing service. Word got out, and it is now a crazy group of 6 doing a 10,000ft tandem skydive including best friends and amazing colleagues. We are jumping with North London Skydiving Centre to help raise vital funds for our very worthwhile cause.

The Blossom Suite at Broomfield Hospital helped me and Colin personally following the loss of our baby girl Willow back in November. When we were flung into the world of baby loss, the Bereavement Midwives supported us emotionally and physically, providing strength and support to us, and allowing us to stay with Willow as a family for as long as we wanted in her cold cot. This vital piece of equipment allows parents to spend time with their sleeping babies, but they only have one on the unit so our aim is to raise enough funds to pay for an additional one for other bereaved families. They also made precious memories with Willow, like hand and foot prints and provided other keepsakes like memory boxes (all of which come from donations from other bereaved families). So many hospitals do not have this type of amazing help, so we feel incredibly lucky.

Speaking about our loss also highlighted the amount of people affected by baby loss and late stage miscarriage, and actually shocked us as to how many people already knew of the Blossom Suite through either personal use or their friends/family had accessed this heart-breaking service.

Our jump is scheduled to take place on Friday 16th May 2025 (British weather permitting…) and if you could please spare a few pounds to sponsor me and Colin it would be much appreciated.

Once you donate and the dive is done, myself and Colin will withdraw the donated funds and give all of the money raised to the Blossom Suite and we will post pictures of them receiving your generous donations.
