Each year the Rotary Club of Bloxwich Phoenix brings Santa to the families of Bloxwich on his sleigh.

The visits are made possible by the members of the club and other volunteers who give their time to man the street visits and associated charity collections. In a typical year we cover around 4-5,000 households in the Bloxwich area, as well as a town centre event at the start of the season. We give away over 2,000 packs of sweets to children and spend time and have photos taken with children and their families, and we like to think we make Christmas just that little bit more special and magical for everyone.

We'd like to expand our coverage and visit more areas - our aim would be for Santa to be available to all children and their families in the Bloxwich area. To this end we are looking to acquire an inflatable grotto/cabin which would allow us to visit more areas with fewer volunteers required to man the activities.

The cost of a suitable grotto and related equipment is estimated to be £2,000; if we can collectively achieve this total by our deadline we promise to do at least five street visits and three or four full grotto days this Christmas. If there are enough volunteers we will do more. This will allow us to cover more areas of the town than we've ever done previously, allowing visits fron children in mores areas than we do currently, including Leamore, Harden Road, etc. If you have any suggestions for areas we could visit with a grotto please let us know.

A successful campaign will allow us to grow the coverage each year, and the expectation would be that this £2,000 investment would provide many years of service to the Bloxwich community.

We are looking to source a design which will also double for other community events during the year - for example an Easter Bunny's house for Easter, summer cabin for carnivals, etc.
