Veteran’s story

Doncaster Veterans Fit Forces Group were set up in June 2022 and started with 7 members. Over the last 2 years this has grown to 46 members and is growing with more vets learning about the group and wanted to join.

The vets are very active in the community and provide:

Peer Support

Support to A&E, helping at pressured time, supporting patients

Visting vets who are in-patients on wards

Visting vets who are in prison

Supporting local charity events – working with rough sleeper project

Men’s Mental Health Day

The vets group also meet weekly, at Fit Forces sessions supporting health and wellbeing for veterans and social events.
