Story
We are raising money to take a fourth Art Project to Zataari refugee camp Jordan. The idea is to spend a few days with the residents making art and to get them involved in a project that will inspire and raise morale. Our first three projects in Bochum and Essen, in Germany, were a huge success and residents enjoyed a week of art sessions, games, cinema, food, music and dancing. This really brought some much needed relief to a camp where there are some serious issues with well being. Projects like this break the monotony and give the residents something positive and creative to focus on. Our projects aim to benefit adults and children living in regardless of gender, nationality or asylum status.
This project is extra special because it is the first time we are launching a new initiative to to help support and promote young artists in Syria. Our first new team member is a young woman who has shared some beautiful illustrations which are designed to teach children to write and paint in numbers. We aim to produce a poster which can potentially be shared with mainstream schools and humanitarian educational facilities in refugee camps all over the world. We will be testing out the materials in Zataari.
If you would like to help us support our community of artists or contribute towards the costs of developing learning resources please donate and share.
Your donations enable us to set up an on site cinema and cafe to conduct workshops in as well as running small and large group art projects. The funds raised will be spent on paint, ladder hire, transport subsidies for our volunteers, materials and data for our artists in Syria, stuff for the cafe and materials for the murals.
