I've raised £500 to Air Ambulance Derbyshire

My 17 year old Daughter was involved in horse riding accident, she was smashed into a tree then lost her stirrup, thrown to the horses neck unable to keep her grip she ended up under the horse and on letting go she was trampled. She lay screaming in horrific pain, her 16 year old sister horrified and in shock at what she saw called 999 to be told it was not an emergency and would take 4 hours to reach her.It was by luck a Consultant was out walking and stumbled across them screaming out for help,he was joined by passers by who all called 999 just to get the same answer. As a mother you can imagine my horror. I was grateful for the helping hands of the people who stopped to help, strangers who gave there coats to keep her warm a lady and her husband who brought flasks of tea, the list of thanks is endless. After two hours she went into shock suffering hyperthermia,i screamed at the consultant who had managed the get her on the top of the Ambulance list,he made one more call and told me the Air Ambulance way on its way. I became more scared for my daughter but at last the help was coming. The Air crew where fantastic administered pain relief etc transferred her to a board. I never want to hear such screams of pain from my children ever again, she was carried up the lane over a fence and rushed to Sheffield I could do nothing but watch i had no transport so once again came the help i needed to get to her.i am happy to say that after a full body scan nothing was broken her left arm is badly damaged but will mend.
So i am asking for donations to the Air Ambulance Derbyshire for their wonderful service, i will be raising money myself through shop collections and a cricket event in November by doing a raffle and anything else i can think of,i am so grateful to them it all could have been a lot worse, if being trampled by a horse is deemed not an emergency by 999 what is ?.Air Ambulance is non government funded service, you just never know one day you might need them, thank you for reading my story please help, yours most sincerely Sharon Layton and family
