Story
I am a qualified psychologist and often work with vulnerable groups.I regularly give my time free of charge as a volunteer to support local agencies reduce their wait time. This is specifically for groups that cannot afford to pay, children in foster care, single parents, young school children, families on very low incomes, criminal offenders, and homeless people, do all desperately need some psychological help. They have included sexually exploited children. Children and young adults with mental health. Survivors of sexual abuse. People dealing with post-traumatic stress.,And people who are on palliative care. I think it's really important to give my time up on a regular basis as it's ethical and fundamentally necessary to be able to support people who are less advantaged and have not got access to money to support their treatment plan.some of the waiting times for the NHS and private counselling agencies can be very long, and sometimes vulnerable groups need to be seen urgently.I get a lot of personal reward and satisfaction knowing that I can give up my time and help see someone through a difficult time.
