Story

Hi I'm CEO & Psychological Therapist at Shifting Our MINDS CIC (Community Interest Company) which means we are a not for profit organisation. We have been supported and gifted a minibus from In-Site Properties and aim to convert into a mobile outreach services vehicle. We specialise in working with Armed Forces and their families, Blue Light and LGB T communities through counselling, EMDR, CBT and Life Coaching. However, we work with anyone needing support, we also do this through our training and workshops. You can visit our website at www.shiftingourminds.org.uk

BLUEY our minibus, will provide a warm space to eat, sit, chat, have a shower and a haircut, a starting point to empower individuals to regain control of their lives. Our minibus is also used to fund raise by launching afternoon teas on special occasions and cake sales.

SOM aims to challenge social isolation, deprivation and loneliness by providing the services already discussed for everyone. Shifting Our MINDS already support people needs. We are a specialist service and not funded therefore rely on donations to allow us to take our minibus on the road to support homeless, disabled and older veterans, where they connect with likeminded Armed Forces communities and veterans who have suffered poor mental health, addictions, gambling, relationship breakdowns and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) this service will provide food, warmth, shelter and hope. Homeless veterans will have an opportunity to reintegrate back into society through consistent weekly contact, support and empowerment to build trust with our team and confidence to regain control of their challenges.

We will teach you how to recognise anxiety, stress and yourself better, as I have travelled my journey of poor to severe mental health problems, I've learned how to have more patience, tolerance and be more resilient, we can help you, join us on our drop ins, book an appointment or come have fun on our outdoor weekends, where we kayak, paddle board or just sit and natter with likeminded people.

You can get through the tough days, maybe you've got to learn how... We're only a call away... :)
