I've raised £1000 to help fund the growth of Project One indoor skatepark, by riding a BMX Coast to Coast across the North of England.🤘

Carlisle has always needed an indoor skatepark, and now it has one... Hurray!
However, this is only the start.
Project One indoor skatepark is our stake in the ground - our declaration that there is a need for this kind of facility in the city, that there is such value in extreme sports like skateboarding / BMX / blades & scooters. They're not a 'waste of time' hobby, but they incredibly difficult Olympic sports, that use huge amounts of balance, skill, ability & focus.
We believe in giving the people of Carlisle the best possible space to learn & hone their skills, in a safe & encouraging environment, for park users of all ages.
We don't want to settle for what we currently have - as we could do so much more with a larger area to use, but expanding will cost a lot of money.
So, in short...
I'm raising money towards the growth & expansion of P1 skatepark by riding a BMX Coast to Coast across the North of England!
The Coast to Coast challenge is not a new one, its been done countless times by many. However, as a BMXer myself it wouldn't feel right to raise money for a skatepark by jumping onto a road bike! So lets be different, lets raise the bar, lets do something daft - and use a BMX to cover the 120+ Miles from the North West coast by the Irish Sea, across the country to the North East Coast by the North Sea.
To make sure this C2C is different from all the others, it will start and end at Skateparks too! Setting off from the Kie Park outdoor skatepark in Whitehaven, journeying past our skatepark Project One in Carlisle, and then finishing at the outdoor skatepark in South Shields.
I'll be setting off from Whitehaven on Sunday 6th October 2019, and hoping to complete the ride in 3 to 4 days - it wont be breaking any world record attempts, but it wont be an easy ride.
This challenge is a bit silly on a BMX! If I wasnt passionate about P1 being bigger & better, theres no way I'd be attempting it - so please give generously. Dig deep, like, share, tell your Nan - it'll all help in a massive way.
Thank You!
Steve
