I have been working intensively with honeybees for the last six years, with a history in the Rural industry and a background in Media previous to that. Honeybees form the lynchpin of Agriculture across both the northern and southern hemispheres, and there are many and varied ways that Commercial Beekeepers maintain populations. However it is now becoming widespread knowledge that things are not all well with our little pollinators. Various ailments such as Colony Collapse Disorder and the Varroa mite have been affecting Honeybees across America, Europe and Asia, and urgent research is still needed to give Honeybees the best possible chances of survival.
As Einstein said, if the Honeybee dies out, mankind will not have long left upon this planet..
