In memory of Bob Gray my dad my hero!

My dad sadly passed away on the 27th October 2017. This coming Saturday marks the 1st year anniversary, It has been hell, hiding your emotions, trying to get on with it, hopefully making my dad proud, it has been an endless battle for all of his family so i have decided to do a sponsores walk on Saturday 27th October 2018 to raise the funds to have a memorial bench overlooking the harbour.

I will be walking from Durdle Door and finishing at Weymouth Lifeboat Station, the walk is 12.5 miles, im not sure how long it will take me due to an Injury i am battling on my knee, but in the grand scheme of things my injury will heel, my dad knew he had terminal cancer but he still got up every day, went to his boats, kept himself busy and never gave up, he was a true warrior and my hero! So i will do this walk in his honour!

The reason for doing my walk is to raise funds to have a memorial bench put on the harbour for his family and friends to sit and remember the good times they shared with my amazing dad.

My dad gave so much to the community, he was a lifeboatman for almost 30 years, he was a ferryman for 35 + years, carrying locals and visitors across the harbour in his rowing boat, he was a big part of the fishing community as well, dad was always at hand if you needed help, but most importantly he was a family man, married for 51 years to our beautiful mum Margaret Gray and raised a family of 5 children, his door was always open to his family, thats why he is so deeply missed by all.
