I've raised £800 to fund a PXB Extraction board for Bollington Health and Leisure and also New Camping Equipment for 12th Stockport (Brinnington) Scout Group

Quite Simply we are trying to raise a bit of money towards acquiring a new spinal board for the local leisure centre that both myself and Liz have worked at for many years. The PXB spinal board (Pool Extraction Board) would improve potentially vital rescue times and aid stability during a rescue. It would be a major addition to the leisure centre and as always these items come with a cost.
Our aim here as the budding athletes we are is to do something we have never done before. Neither one of us before this year had been particularly quick at running and I for one certainly had no ambitions of anything endurance related.
On September the 9th 2017 with an early 6am start we are setting off to Run (walk the serious hills!) an epic 36 mile "Local" run we have designed that starts at the Leisure Centre and heads out via the gritstone trail to Disley, Whaley Bridge via the canal, over to Buxton. Back across to Macc Forest for a hilly slog and then back along the canal to the point of origin!
This may probably seem a little daft. But we wouldn't want people to part with their hard earned money for nothing now. So over the past 8 months we have been training hard. running segments on a weekly basis, designing a route that could be assisted and on September 9th we intend to attempt and succeed in this immense challenge in order to raise funds for the worthy cause. Any money thereafter that is raised if we complete our target for the PXB board will go towards the funding of the local scout hut that Liz volunteers with on a weekly basis. They are in need of Camping equipment and where would scouts be without camping equipment. So be generous where you can and thank you in advance. This is going to be tough!
