I've raised £300 to Help Feed and home get the children of Manila.

We are raising money for children in the Phillipines who are living in unreal conditions. Children as young as 4 can can be seen running around bare foot on mountains of rubbish, scavaging through the dumped bags for food to eat and metal to earn money for their family's even collecting screws and wire to hopefully get £1 for the day to buy some rice.
It's typical for families of 15 children living in one small make shift room with no beds, electric or fresh water supplies, often the 'houses' are stacked on top of each other as there is little space.
The children can be seen roaming the streets at 2-3am waiting for lorrys to dump more bags where they can be seen running to them and ripping them open for food to eat. Also the children who don't have homes are sleeping on the roadside of a busy motorway while lorrys are passing through into the main city every night.
This is no way for a child to live, one man was enjoying a backpacking holiday when he took a wrong turn and witnessed what was happening here, he couldn't leave, he had to help! That man was Simon Lewis.
Simon decided to not continue with his trip of a lifetime and stay and help these children, he has since bonded with around 10 of these children and they adore him, he's clothed them, fed them and got them into education by working with charity's and the community, this has been done through his own expense and donations he has managed to raise.
these children face being run down by the trucks, also falling through air pockets in the deep mountains of rubbish aswell as empty drink cans, needles and shards of glass playing a big part too.
Simon has also has been setting up school placements and aims to have more children on school through charity backed schemes and sponsorships very soon.
Any money extra from what they need he will be putting into new projects for them, such as the shipping container flats and small recycling plants. Which Simon has plans on doing aswell.
