I've raised £1100 to help fund my volunteering project in Tanzania

I'm in my 3rd year studying for my midwifery degree at Edinburgh Napier University, as part of the course we have an elective placement of 4 weeks, we can choose to go anywhere and do anything (midwifery related!), with such an amazing opportunity I have chosen to use my time volunteering in Tanzania in February 2018, in less than 3 months eek!
I will be working a minimum of 30 hours a week with midwives in Arusha, north Tanzania. There are high births rates, mortality, FGM and HIV, but few resources and midwives to care for the women and their families. I hope to take medical supplies to donate to the hospital with me. I also hope my training so far will enable me to help the women and the midwives, I will learn new skills and can pass on my skills. This will be an invaluable learning experience and help me develop my knowledge, skills, communication and compassion while providing much needed care to women in a developing country.
I'm hoping to fundraise towards the cost, so any support would be amazing, I've signed myself up for a 10k run on the 3rd of December so please sponsor me to limp over the finish line!
Please share my story
Thank you xx
