Story
I‘ve set up this page for a dear friend of mine as she wouldn’t dream of ever asking. I‘ve known this wonderful girl since secondary school. She‘s the kindest, most gentle person I know. I‘ve been lucky enough to watch her meet an amazing man, I was maid of honour at their wedding and watched them become parents to two little boys. In 2012, three months before their wedding day Ryan was diagnosed with a Brain tumour. It was a scary time but thankfully Ryan responded well to the treatment and they slowly were able to continue with their lives. We‘ve now received the news that the tumour is causing damage to the surrounding areas of his brain and surgey and chemotherapy is needed very soon. This is the worst news not only for them emotionally but of course financially! Ryan was soon to finish a plumbing course which cost them thousands so he could provide for his family. The doctors have said after the surgery he won’t have full use of his right arm, this unfortunately is best case scenario, it means he won’t be able to become a plumber or work manually so in turn have wasted £7,000. He could be partically or fully paralysed or much worse. Such a duanting and terrifying situation! He will take months to recover and in that time there is very little money coming in. As their youngest baby is 6months old Mum is on maternity leave. Going back to work earlier would mean more childcare costs and no one at home with Ryan
The funds are needed desperately to pay for their 3 year old to attend nursery full time whilst Ryan recovers, in Wales the funded entiled hours for pre school are only 15 but are due to change in april. Full time nursery for 3 months will be £1,800.
To help towards the fuel to and from the specialist hospital, so it‘s a 4hour trip all round.
And most importantly, to help pay the bills, feed the children and keep the mortage paid in this time which could be over a year.
It amazes me that there is no help for families in this situation. I find it heart breaking and I’m so desperate to help!
