I'm raising £2000 to help re-establish our Bournville apiary

Story

We’re reaching out with a heart full of gratitude and hope. After a tough winter, we’ve faced a heartbreaking loss — 95% of our colonies at the Bournville apiary and 80% of our reserve colonies at Wythall didn’t make it through. It’s been a challenging time, but we’re determined to learn from this setback. We’re opening up the affected hives and sending samples for testing to understand if disease, pesticides, or other factors played a role. This knowledge will guide us in protecting our bees better in the future.

Despite these difficulties, our passion for saving bees is as strong as ever. We’re already working on creating new colonies and collecting swarms where possible because the bees need us now more than ever. Unfortunately, this means we won’t be able to run any apiary sessions in 2026 — but all customers affected will be fully reimbursed soon.

The financial impact is significant, with lost honey production and cancelled visits adding up quickly. That’s why we’re asking for your support today. With your help, we can raise £750 to cover essential costs and keep our recovery efforts buzzing along smoothly. Every contribution brings us closer to rebuilding and welcoming you back by April 2027.

Thank you so much for standing with us through thick and thin — your support truly means the world. We’ll keep sharing updates on social media as we work hard to bring our apiaries back to life. Together, let’s keep saving the bees!
