Story

In April 2017 I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer with a spread to my liver. I had to undergo 2 major operations and 12 rounds of chemotherapy. After both operations I was unable to drive for 6 weeks or lift my 9 month old daughter. My husband had to take 3 months off work to assist me at home. During this time I required lots of support. I was weak, tired & sick. Some days I was unable to drive my children to school. My mum who lives in Australia had to fly home numerous times to look after me on chemo weeks and make sure my children got to school, clubs etc.

In March 2018 I had a clear scan and I thought things were improving but then I was told I had a reoccurrence in my liver. There is currently multiple lesions in my liver and they are unable to operate at present. I have now also been told that my cancer has spread further and it is in my left lung too. I have started back on chemotherapy and it’s now a case of watching and waiting to see what chemo does, 6 rounds at a time.

I have been through 3 operations and 25 rounds of chemo already. I imagine in the not so distant future my options may become fewer and some of these options may involve a cost. I don’t have health insurance so I would have to find these funds myself.

I dont know how long I have left, I refuse to live to a timeframe so I never ask that question but in what time I have left I would like to make some memories with my babies. Any money left over once I am no longer here would help towards funeral costs and then be split between my children.
