Box 4 Good

Mission Statement : To inspire and empower young men through boxing, to create connection and encourage positive change.

What/Why/How?

Box 4 Good aims to raise funds for the purpose of a boxing match against amateur boxers from England and Grenada, to be held in the Grenadian capital of St. George’s. Money donated will fund the return flights, accommodation, food and transport of 12 amateur boxers from the UK and their chaperones.

The twelve boxers will be young men from the age of fourteen, who will be carefully selected based on merit, rather than boxing achievement. These young men are often from difficult social economic backgrounds, through perseverance have overcome challenges, aiming for high levels of personal integrity and performance. Young men of their age are often victims of crime or gang activity, but have chosen boxing as their method of removing themselves from difficult situations and peer pressure in order to assist them in making more positive life choices.

The boxers from Grenada will also be young men, from similarly difficult circumstances. Box 4 Goods mission is to inspire and empower young men from both nations to encourage positive change.

The boxing show will be a great first for Grenada. The Prime Minister, Keith Mitchell, will be invited to present trophies to the winning boys on the evening, along with the Minister for Sport. It will be a great achievement for all involved, and no doubt life changing for some.

The cost of such an evening will require a significant amount of donations, not only to cover travel arrangements and costs but programs, trophies, sound, lighting and other boxing materials. Any money raised that is not used for the event, will be donated to the Grenada Sports and Wellbeing Foundation, a non for profit that assists children from all sporting backgrounds in a variety of positive ways.
