J&L Tree Contracting Ltd (aka James and Lee) have decided to take the plunge on Boxing Day in order to raise some money for baby Kita and her family.

It was brought to our attention that a local family were going through the unimaginable when their daughter, Kita, was rushed to Alder Hey hospital at only 14 months old.

A scan found a mass on her brain. Within 24 hours Kita had already undergone the first urgent operation on her brain, which discovered a brain tumour and Kita was later diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. This has been an unimaginable journey for them, filled with countless hospital over night stays, surgeries, and now, the start of chemotherapy.

In a 4 week timeline Kita has already undergone multiple brain surgeries, a number of procedures involving anaesthesia, a lumbar puncture, experienced weight loss, undergone physio, has been referred to a cardiologist, faced multiple MRI & CT scans, has had a PEG tube fitted and faces a 6 month chemotherapy protocol; this list is not exhaustive. While she’s shown incredible strength and resilience, the road ahead is still long and uncertain.

The emotional, physical and financial toll this has taken on the family is beyond words so we are trying to raise anything that we can to support them.
