Ok this post is a work in progress. When I was in Rajasthan/India one of my friends Raju an absolute diamond of a chap took me to his village about 50 miles from Jaipur, and showed me his efforts to make a school in rural Rajasthan. Obviously things are a bit (very)different out there and although the locals are proud and amazing, yet there is no investment ,public services or opportunities and obviously a form of education would make a massive difference in what we would perceive in the western world as absolute poverty,just imagine how things would be if we did not go to school,how limited your options would be, this is the reality.The school opens in July, yet there are no tables, chairs or perhaps things we take for granted, it is literally 4 walls and a toilet. these tables cost 350 rupees (£3.50)etc..its nothing for us yet the locals wages are shockingly bad, so its not like they can do it themselves.So of course I am donating . I guess what I am asking does anyone have any ideas for fund raising or want to help, all receipts and accounts will be transparent. Its something I really want to help out with, these people are lovely, funny and very resilient,perhaps family if you were going to give a birthday present maybe this would be the way to go.
