Story
Hi everyone, I want to introduce you to our friends Bradley and Laura. We've known them for about 3 years, Laura is a founder member at F45 Kingston and she managed to get Bradley to come along about 6 months later.
They are both lovely people, active, super-friendly, hard working - she is a teacher and he's manages big building projects. When they told us they were getting married just over a year ago we were so happy for them. Brad built a custom Gin bar for their reception :-) Even better news was to come when they found out last October that Laura was pregnant with their first baby.
Bradley and Laura's lives were turned upside down at the beginning of December; he had a seizure at work and shortly afterwards a brain tumour was diagnosed. He received excellent fast treatment with some of the top NHS specialists but his cancer is inoperable. Very quickly he lost feeling in his left side and, having always been very active, he now finds the smallest tasks very difficult.
Brad started a 6 month course of radiotherapy and chemotherapy this month. Unfortunately this won't be a cure but the hope is that this will shrink the tumour and extend his life. His consultants have also recommended a course of a drug called Avastin which they believe will help to increase his mobility and improve his quality of life and may also have an anti cancer effect. Unfortunately Avastin isn't available on the NHS and the dose Bradley needs every two weeks costs over £3000.
We need to help Brad and Laura raise money for this treatment to give him the best chance of fighting the cancer before the arrival of their baby in May.
