Story

Dementia is currently the worlds leading killer with no cure and the UK's biggest health and social care crisis -

The Bradbury delivers compassionate and person centred care to over 50 individuals who primarily suffer from Alzheimer's disease or Dementia related illness, encouraging the maximum quality of life and striving for their continued independence wherever possible. The day centre is very much one of a kind in regards that there is nothing similar in any of the surrounding Shropshire communities. Service users travel from Whitchurch, Wem, Market Drayton, Ellesmere, Audlem and further to spend the day in a social and engaging environment, the guests receive personal care on a needed basis, baths, group activities, singing, a hot two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day. The centre offers a bus service to collect and drop off the guests of the Bradbury, and also weekly hairdressing and chiropodist appointments. This service not only offers stimulation and a sense of purpose to the guests of the Bradbury, it offers much needed respite to its individuals full time carers who would otherwise get overwhelmed with the demand and stress that comes with caring for loved ones with Dementia.
