Weʼre raising £1,000 to launch the administrative base for Bradford’s blue heritage plaque scheme

Bradford has had a Civic Society since 1942. During that time, we have worked hard to promote Bradford as a place to be proud of – saving key buildings such as St George’s Hall from demolition; funding blue plaques for the city; and hosting countless public events over the years. But, like many other historic groups, we experienced a period of dormancy in the 1990s, and subsequently relaunched with charitable status in 2006. We have been quietly growing again since then, raising our profile and attracting new members, and now the time is right to realise the next steps of our growth plans.
We are seeking support to fund the first new blue plaques for Bradford, and we specifically need adequate funds to maintain a new city centre base for this important activity.
