Rob's Story So Far...
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read through Rob's Just Giving page. I am reaching out to rally support for an incredible Dad, Uncle, Husband and Friend, who has triumphed over adversity and is now on his journey to rebuild his life. In 2019, Rob was diagnosed with a brain tumour that turned his world upside down. After undergoing 2 successful surgeries but meeting some very unfortunate hurdles along the way, his life has consequently changed forever and his battles are far from over.
Rob’s determination to bounce back and regain his former upbeat, hilarious and loving self for his family and friends is truly inspiring. However, his current living situation poses numerous challenges. His home, which he shares with Sarah, Tom, Ernie and Monty, is not currently designed to accommodate his new accessibility needs. As a result, Rob faces countless daily obstacles, hindering his ability to fully participate in normal life and regain his independence.
I'm sure we all agree that every person deserves a home that supports their well-being and helps them thrive. That's why I have launched this fundraising campaign to raise funds for renovating Rob’s house into a disability-friendly and accessible home. With your generous support, we can transform his house into a place of comfort, safety, and limitless possibilities.
Here's how your contribution can make a significant impact:
1️. Wheelchair Accessibility: The house needs modifications to allow Rob to navigate freely and independently.
2️. Safety and Convenience: Installing handrails and grab bars will ensure Rob can move around the house without fear of accidents or falls.
3️. Adaptive Living Spaces: Adapting the kitchen and living areas will empower Rob to perform daily tasks with ease, boosting his confidence and enhancing his quality of life.
4️. Emotional Well-being: Creating a serene and calming environment will positively influence Rob's mental health, fostering hope and resilience for his journey.
Your donation, no matter the size, can help bring joy and a sense of normalcy back into Rob's life. Every pound raised will go directly towards the renovation costs, ensuring that his family can live together comfortably and support him throughout his rehabilitation.
If you needed any more motivation to donate, Brad (his son) and Michael (his nephew) will be completing a sponsored bike ride! We will be riding from his home in Hucclecote to Leeds United Stadium (Robs Team). This 175-mile gruelling trip will take place over one day and will be fueled with the idea of your contributions helping to change Rob’s life!
We are also looking for willing riders to come along on the journey with us. However far you would like to cycle, whether you join us along the way for a few miles or are mad enough to come with us the entire 175, we would love to see you there. This will be taking place on Saturday, September 30th 2023, starting at Rob's house in Hucclecote and ending at Elland Road Leeds.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and support. Together, we can turn Rob’s house into a home filled with love, accessibility, and endless possibilities.
With gratitude, Bradley and Michael

7 months agoGood Afternoon, As many of you might know, Mike and I have now completed the 165-mile bike ride from Rob's home to Elland Road. I cannot thank all of you enough for spurring us along the way with your generous donations. Each one that popped up made Mike and I dig that little bit deeper to cross the finish line. In true Yorke fashion, with no training and no regard for our own health, we stumbled into Leeds after a mere 20 hours in the saddle. Mike, Rob and I would again like to say a huge thank you. Your donations will be life-changing!
