Story
In memory of Bradley
Bradley was very passionate about nature and the environment. On his travels he visited the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand and he fell in love with the elephants and said it was one of the best things he'd done travelling!
Brads bought as many clothes from their shop as he could fit in his rucksack to help support them.
We do not want any flowers at his funeral but instead want to help raise money for this sanctuary and help the elephants that Bradley said he made life long friends with.
Thank you!
Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is an ethical and sustainable eco-tourism project located approximately 60km from the city of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. Founded in July 2014, it is a joint initiative between members of the Karen hill-tribes and Chiang Mai locals who were concerned about the welfare of elephants in Thailand.
Currently comprised of 9 spacious locations Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is home to over thirty formerly mistreated elephants, who are now free to enjoy their lives.
OUR MISSION is to provide as many elephants as possible with the good health, freedom, and happiness they truly deserve. We use our progressive and ethically responsible approach to elephant eco-tourism as a platform to raise awareness and educate people from Thailand and around the world about elephant care and the plight of the Asian elephant.
OUR HOPE is to lead by example, and contribute to a positive change in the perception of elephants; to witness a future where elephants are not ridden, poached, overworked, or abused, and are instead treated with care, love, and respect.
The Elephant Jungle Sanctuary project also provides many Karen people with employment, education, and financial support.
At Elephant Jungle Sanctuary, the money raised from visits, volunteers, merchandise and donations is primarily used for elephant rescue, food, veterinary care, infrastructure and land so we can constantly be growing and expanding the capacity of our Sanctuary and receiving more elephants. Some of the money is also designated to compensate the local owners of the elephants so they let us take care of them, instead of making them work. Some of the income gets saved so in the future we can buy our own elephants and they can live forever, free and happy at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.
