I've raised £20000 to Support us in Fundraising for our community bunkhouse - Braich Goch CIC

On 25th May 2017 we took ownership of the Braich Goch -Red Arm (BG-RA) Inn and Bunkhouse, a 450 year old tavern in the village of Corris, on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park near Machynlleth, West Wales.
Braich Goch is mainly directed by a team of volunteering and self-motivated people - We have all worked with diverse communities over the years, and have found residential experiences provides an ideal way for people to come together, build and deepen relationships, plan their work - cooking and eating and breathing the rural air together can often be the cement for bringing us together to work for change. Instead of always renting spaces from other people we decided that we could increase this impact by owning a property and making it a 'home from home.' We aim to develop Braich Goch Inn as a residential centre and a critical educational resource for individuals, community based groups and organisations that are seeking to find ways to work together to combat the sources and effects of inequality, poverty, discrimination and oppression at local, national and/or international levels.
BG-RA is Surrounded by woodland, mountains, rivers, waterfalls and close to a beautiful coastline, the building has 8 bedrooms on 3 floors, 3 living rooms and a large community meeting space suitable for gatherings, performances and meetings. In addition it has approx. 1/3 acre of gardens with raised beds, a poly-tunnel, barbecue and seating areas overlooking the valley. In order to sustain the dream, we are asking you to kindly support us in making this place come to life and for us to be able to offer this space to communities and individuals; particularly those engaged in combating social inequalities.
Your donation will go towards:
- General running cost (insurance, waste disposal, electricity, water, fuel /pallets for ecological boiler, gas for cooking, garden renovation and tool, fixing ecological boiler)
- A minibus (to enables us to bring communities with little or no resources)
Your money will support in sustaining the project while were are able to launch our long term funding strategy which includes a self-sufficient initiative. We are coming to you because we know that we share the same values, because of your commitment to social justice and our belief that we can change the world collectively.
You can also donate directly to:
