Story

We run Brambles Wildlife Rescue based in Blackpool. We take in wildlife from Blackpool, Fylde Coast, Preston, Bolton, and surrounding areas. The running costs of helping wildlife in our care are between £300 - £400 per month.

The problem with taking in injured and poorly wildlife is that nearly all of them are coming in with terrible communicable diseases such as salmonella and other severe bacterial strains as well as viruses that can be easily spread to other wildlife. We are raising funds for wipe-clean veterinary recovery cage units to upgrade our current hutches and cages in order to give injured, orphaned and poorly wildlife the best chances of recovery and release them back to the wild.

The rescue needs to raise £4500 to be able to buy wipe-clean veterinary recovery cages to prevent the spread of disease and give the poorly wildlife the best chance of recovery.

Some of the everyday items the rescue uses that contribute to our current running costs includes puppy pads, veterinary grade disinfectant/s, a wide variety of medications including, worming injectables and injectable and tablet antibiotics, antiseptics, aloe vera, sterile water for injections, dressings, bandages, vitamin supplements, syringes, tubing, needles, hand feeding formula, puppy and kitten milk, bird food, hedgehog food, hedgehog boxes, heat pads, perches, bowls, and wildlife release transport cages.

We receive no government or supported funding and the costs are currently covered by ourselves and the generosity of public donations. We are so grateful for any financial support we receive to help us keep taking wildlife in! Every penny counts and goes towards the treatment and care of orphaned, injured and poorly wildlife we receive. Your donation will go directly towards the cages and the treatment and care of the wildlife that we take in to rehabilitate and release back to their natural habitat or transport them to a safe and secure sanctuary.
