I've raised £3000 to help provide much needed funds for Brandon and his family, to give them special days out after enduring 3 years of treatment for Leukemia.

Brandon is an amazing young man who is a friend of my two children. In July 2015 his and his family's world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Since then Brandon has undergone all manner of treatments and procedures. And all of these have been marked with a bravery bead, given to Brandon by the amazing oncology nurses looking after him. To date there are nearly 3,000 beads. Many more will be added in the months Brandon has till he gets to ring the end of treatment bell in September. But his leukaemia journey will not end then. Regular check ups will be necessary. He and his family will live with leukemia long after his treatment ends. Brandon's cancer has been all consuming in the years since he and his family were given the news no-one wants to hear. It's hit them in a way so many of us could never (and hope to never) imagine. But the emotional and physical impact is only part of the story. Living with cancer has huge financial implications. And while the family have been intent from day one on raising funds for charities supporting children living with cancer, they have selflessly never done so for themselves. Which is where I come in. The idea is simple. I'm asking friends, family, friends of friends - basically anyone who sees this - to simply donate a pound for each bead Brandon has collected on his journey. The money raised can be used by the family to enjoy special times together that they simply haven't been able to when money has been so tight and when they have been so utterly overwhelmed and consumed with the daily struggles that come with dealing with such a poorly child. Sadly many of us have had our lives touched by cancer. Some of us know first hand the devastating impact it can have. And while there have been many a dark day for Brandon he is a boy who has shown such incredible bravery throughout. His smile lights up a room. Let's make that smile even bigger. One pound for one bead. Let's do this guys.
