Story

The passionate, dedicated and inspiring staff and volunteers of Cambodia Sings and BraveHearts Program orphanage are teaming up this year to run the Angkor Wat half marathon to raise much needed money for the upkeep, treatment and support of the children and workers who depend on it.

We are looking to raise £1000 that will go towards better helping the children at BraveHearts, some of which live with profound learning and physical disabilities which require vital, round the clock care.

Sustaining and supporting this program will provide towards the constant needs these incredible children have such as physiotherapy, medicine, food, equipment and much more. Any money you donate, big or small, will be maximized to ensure these children have as much playtime, education and interaction that is crucial towards their development.

Running a half marathon is no easy feat as we all know, yet the volunteers and staff at this wonderful organisation are tackling this journey for the fourth consecutive year despite the rugged terrain and blistering heat that Cambodia has to offer. So let’s make it worth their while and see how close to our $1000 target we can get.

The Ankgor Wat Half Marathon NGO started the race in 1996 and raises relief for the victims of antipersonnel mines in Cambodia. The marathon fee will support a ban on the manufacture and inhumane use of anti-personnel mines and provide prosthetic limbs, integration programs, prevention and education of HIV/AIDS.
