On the 21st May 2016 at 1:30 my beautiful son Louis sadly passed away following a tragic accident. He was taken to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, where they did everything they could to save him.

Devastatingly they couldn't save his life but through it all I couldn't help but be touched by the efforts and support of the staff in the unit. They do such an amazing job, dealing with some of the toughest situations and on the most helpless among us, children.

The Bristol Children's Hospital couldn't save Louis but whilst I was there in the Brain injury unit there was other children who had survived their terrible injuries and for them and their families I know it will be life changing. Because of all of this I want to raise some money for the Hospital to help them give the continued support to any one of us who could find ourselves having to deal with these life changing experiences.

I'm doing a 16 day charity trek to Everest Base camp to raise money for the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. All donations made will be going to the Hospitals Brain Injury Unit. Please be assured that myself, Kate and our families truly appreciate all of the love and support we have received and we thank you all in advance for your kind donations.

We’re slowly climbing up to higher altitude.. we’ve reached 4400m .. it’s definitely tougher now .. not sleeping so well as breathing becomes harder .. today we’re heading up to 5000m to acclimatise.. then come back down to 4400m to adjust again in preparation for Everest Base Camp on Saturday..

The realisation of the strength and endurance and determination is kicking in .. I hope I can do this .. I don’t want to let anyone down ..

Today has by far been the toughest day!! Climbing and climbing !! Reached about 4000m today !! Head was really pulsing... But was worth it !! The sun was setting of the Himalayas and managed to capture the sun setting over Everest!! Really emotional 💙 I can’t begin to put into words how it feels .. it’s one those feelings you have to live it to experience it!! 💙💙💙

There it is first sighting of Mount Everest!! Can’t catch the summit because of the cloud blowing.. I’ve never experienced anything like this .. The Himalayas truly are incredible on an Epic scale!! 💙💙We’ve got some tough trekking days ahead now to reach base camp 👍🙏💙💙💙 Thank you for your continued love and support 💙
