Story

During my time at school I didn't find the work challenging as I have ADHD and was very high functioning.
I used to make my own entertainment, much to the teachers dislike.
At the age of 14 I was asked to leave school as they had tried many ways to contain me and my behaviour but failed.

I went to my local barber for my fortnightly haircut where I told him what had happened.. Very kindly he offered to take me on as an apprentice.
I went from teachers telling me "You're a menace and a nuisance" and "You'll never amount to anything" to being thanked for remedial tasks that I actually enjoyed doing.
I learned how to work well as a part of a team and my confidence shot up massively!

Since then I have gone on to do great things and I want others to have the opportunity that I was lucky enough to have.

There used to be a lot of government based programs and funding for offering opportunity and equality from projects like this, but it has all seemed to have dried up and had cuts to funding which is why I started Break Barriers.

We receive no government or Private funding, we are solely backed by the generosity and help of the public.
By getting Break Barriers to Charity status it will help us to branch out, help more people and hopefully get government or private funding.
