Story
Breakingmental heal Mad was founded in 2017 as a community project spearheaded by our passion to push for equitable, accessible and culturally sensitive services for the Black Community. We
Breaking Mad recognises that the “madness” narrative still dominates our view of mental health in society resulting in stigma, shame and late access to support. With the community-driven approach at the heart of our work, we aim to provide safe and accessible spaces for black people to navigate bespoke mental information. In doing so, we hope to transform social attitudes to mental health and promote help-seeking behaviour. With our combined experience in the NHS and the charitable sector, Breaking Mad also offers a consultation and training strand for organisations that are equally passionate about improving mental health outcomes for African and Caribbean communities.
We are a non-for-profit Community Interest Company (C.I.C). We are not funded and therefore have to mostly self-fund our community-based projects.
Please help us by making a donation and take advantage of this incredible opportunity to lend your support. It’s a great way to contribute to our cause, and every little bit counts towards paving the path for a better tomorrow. All funds are reinvested into enriching our outreach work and creating innovative ways to connect with you all.
