Weʼve raised £899 to enable Breastfeeding Peer Support in the South Devon area to be sustainable

Dartmouth, Dawlish, Totnes and Kingsbridge (Devon)
Funded on Sunday, 14th February 2021

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

Being a parent is hard! We support families in a safe non-judgemental environment whilst providing evidence based breastfeeding support.

Due to the current situation face to face groups are currently on hold. We are working hard to get our risk assessment in place to ensure we can run safely in the current climate.

We have online and video support available - please contact our Nurslings Facebook page for details.

Last year we supported over 33 people a week through four group sessions, and many more through Nurslings Facebook page. With over 800 total attendance for the year - running every week except Christmas and New Year.

Funds are needed to enable us to continue to provide this much needed support. Money raised will fund our insurance renewal, DBS checks and training for volunteers.

Please help us continue to provide these invaluable community groups in the South Devon area.

When sessions are able to run again we cover Dartmouth, Dawlish, Kingsbridge and Totnes:

    Monday 10am - 12pm No. 1 Cafe, Dawlish

Tuesday 10 - 11.30am Totnes United Free Church, Totnes

    Wednesday 10am - 12pm Family Church, Kingsbridge

    Thursday 10.30am - 12pm Flavel Church, Dartmouth

We hope be up and running again soon!

Steph was a welcome face and much needed support with breastfeeding after struggling and not being supported by my health visitor. If not been for covid, I would have been a regular at kingsbridge

Only visited once in person but used the online group - it’s really important to continue support.

Nurslings began in January 2019 in Dartmouth, Devon. It was founded by four mothers who had experienced difficulties accessing support. Over the past year Nurslings has grown amazingly and now has four sessions a week.
