I've raised £650 to pay for a website and maintain it for the Brentwood Access Group. We campaign to make our Borough's built environment accessible for all.

Story

We at Brentwood Access are a community based campaigning group. Our aim is to make the the built environment of Brentwood Borough as accessible as possible for people with disabilities, the elderly, those with mobility problems and people with buggies and children. During the last couple of years we have successfully arranged an increase in Blue Badge parking at Brentwood and Shenfield stations and the town centre Blue Badge car park designated a Community Asset. We exist on a tiny budget of £50 - £100 a year. We used to get a Council grant every 3-4 years but the rules changed and we do not qualify. Neither our vice chairman nor I take any expense, it only goes on stationary/stamps. This year was bad as we had the data protection policy to enact and it cost extra. We need the website to help campaign and spread the word on what we do, electronically, 21st century style. There are disabled youngsters in the Borough who's talents would really help us effectively campaign but we cannot reach them without a website and Facebook. Help us help others.
