I've raised £500 to Robert B.Johnson Memorial Scrabble Academy

Hi my name is Brian. I run Scrabble groups on Facebook. Places where people all over the world get together bond and make community, playing the board game Scrabble online. We run tournaments and have a good time connecting together. I have as part of being an Admin in several groups come across a member I would love get some help for.
Joseph lives in Liberia. A fan of Scrabble for 30 years but now much more. For some time Joseph has been getting together kids in his local area to learn how to speak English and play Scrabble. Organising tournaments and providing meals for children. Joseph and his wife have been providing local children wih support and passage ways to a better future. The photos that Joseph posts often show how much this means to the children involved. I have looked into this cause deeply and spoke to some current donators and helpers in this wonderful cause. They are called the Robert B Johnson Memorial Scrabble Academy. Here is a link to their facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/325707199376678
I am looking for any of my scrabble freinds and communities to think about a small donation to help the scheme progress and grow. Joseph will provide us with information and pictures of how these funds are used. I personally think it is a wonderful way to show some of the children of Africa and Liberia there is a better future and Joseph is a great guide. Please donate only if you have a little spare money. If you are a part of our community or not, you will be able to see how the money will be spent and see some very smiling faces on the children involved in updates from me later and on their Facebook group pages. Here is what Joseph said the money would be used for.
See, we live in a country where our game (Scrabble) gets no attention from government , higher ups or even we ourselves who play the game.
I have been playing the game now for about 33yrs, since our civil war in 1990.
We now live in a society where addiction to narcotic drugs and early girls prostitution is high on the increase.
With these, my wife and I decided to help under privileged kids by:
1. Using the game to busy their minds.
2. Help their parents with little funds (mobilized from friends abroad) to keep needed kids in school
3. Feed the kids every Sunday round the year.Either with pastry or our staple diet (rice), which is our major challenge.
4. Organize scrabble tournaments to keep them active.
5. Most of all, Scrabble alone will not convince their parents. Therefore, since my wife and I are caterers and professional chefs, she (my wife) teach them to do pastries as well.
Note: All of the above are free of charges to any parents or child
We do most of the financial sacrifices everytime.
It's difficult to do all this by ourselves.
If you have noticed, it's during the sunny times that we are really active and very regular.
During the rainy season here, we are low on attendance because we play outside.
Our country has two seasons.
Rainy and dry seasons that are about six months each.
I have the space to build a playing hut but there is no money These are few of what we will really need to spend on, if we had.
Lets come together to help these great guides and the children they support out. Kids are our future. Lets give them more oppotunity to thrive and progress in life. There may be an exclusive piece of artwork drawn in a raffle for donaters to this cause created by one of our group members. This is dependent on donations recieved and viability to ship though.
Thanks
Brian Britton
