Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Thank you for visiting our #jacobsjoin💚 crowdfunding page.
We're inviting people to join with our son Jacob, who was diagnosed with cancer (embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma) in March, to raise funds towards the cost of overseas Proton Beam radiotherapy. Jacob was initially approved for two months of NHS funded treatment in Jacksonville, Florida - but this was cancelled due to growth of his tumour. He now has to re-start his chemotherapy with a different combination of drugs, with increased likelihood of painful and/or longer term side effects - and only if the tumour reduces would we be re-considered for NHS funded Proton Beam.
There‘s a real possibility that we'll need to fund the treatment ourselves, estimated at up to £100,000, hence this page and campaign. Should we eventually be approved for NHS funding (or be unable to use the money raised for any reason) it would instead be donated to other worthy causes / charities.
If you wish to join our team, please set up your own crowdfunding page for #jacobsjoin - or just use this page to collect donations. We're planning an End of Summer Ball on Sep 28th at Preston North End FC - please save the date!
Thank you for joining with Jacob! 💚
