    Story

I have always had a problem with making a judgement on homeless people begging on the street. I have read some statistics that say one in five beggars are actually homelless. Some youngsters have new trainers, smoking and pretty well kept, some are not there on public holidays and some look like I could be feeding a drug habit...it is just so hard to make a judgement.
However in a trip through Glasgow I had an epiphany money when I saw an old man that could have been my dad. I imagined he was for a moment and thought what would I have done for my dad had I found him on the street.
Boy that opened my eyes and I saw the homeless person for what he was. I stuck a fiver in his cup and just imagined it was my dad, he probably was someone's dad.
My dad passed away on 11th of the 11th 1997 and whilst he never was a serviceman he was a soldier that endured a lot and he was my best friend for a large part of my life. I owe it to him to do this thing.
All I am asking is to put a fiver in this cup for your dad...and if not your dad...my dad.
There is an easy solution to making a judgement on homelss people...lets get the real homeless off ths streets give them a roof over their heads and a sense of purpose in life.Together we can build this village.
My aim is to raise £5,000, thats 1000 of my friends putting a fiver in the cup.
Lets do this for our dads and get them off the street.

      Update from the Page owner

Many thanks to all my supporters. Stage 1 of the mission is now complete and the great news is that the total amount raised from the CEO Sleepout was £564, 545.64. This figure has exceeded our original target of £500,000 needed to build an entire village for homeless and vulnerable people in Edinburgh. All my supporters both cash, donations and those who shared my posts will go into a draw for the gold medals signed by Sir Chris Hoy. The draw will take place in HOME the restaurant in Edinburgh towards the end of Janury Thanks again Brian

Thanks so much to my first supporters...I really did not expect to get this started so quickly. Part of this initiative is that I will be sleeping rough in the CEO sleep out on 15th December and by then we should know how many homeless people we can get off the streets.

After a fight with cancer things changed in my life. I realise we can all make a difference and it is about us all doing a little rather than a few doing a lot. As an entrepreneur of 22 years I have witnessed that some people just need a hand, a step up to change their lives.
