Story
I’m just a bloke and a family man with a pair of legs who wants to to raise awareness for mental health in the communities of Cornwall. I’m not known as athletic or sporty in any shape or form by those that know me!
Though I have for the last 25 years experienced my own mental health issues. Talking about how you feel can be difficult and some of us can, however the majority seem to find this very overwhelming. In the last year alone, just in the community I live in (Camborne/Redruth), I have heard or known of at least 12 people taking their own lives! This walk is an opportunity to touch communities and people’s lives, to restate the importance of looking out for each other and to see people beyond our surfaces. Life in its simplicity is about people, are we really always aware of each other?
Please support Portheden and myself in May on the walk whether that be a donation, joining me on my walk or a bit of banter on social media. It can seem so little though mean so much.
Thanks.

4 years agoThank you. You have made a difference to mental health services in Cornwall. Our challenge is to translate that to reflect the care and passion you have shown in supporting us. We will make every effort not let you down. Please do follow us on Facebook whilst our website is being rebuilt, or help this develop by checking Portheden.com (not the usual Portheden.org) which is our website testing ground. Thank you again and we all hope to hear from you and meet you in the very near future. Very best wishes. Portheden team......
