As the Club approaches its 80th Anniversary, the building is in need of refurbishment and repair. The roof requires a full replacement which we have been advised will cost £100k. There are 2 areas of the roof with active leaks requiring urgent repairs to ensure the building is watertight and enable the internal damage to also be repaired.

In April 2024, the Club started its "Raise the Roof Campaign", raising approximately £5,000 to date.

The Legion is a not for profit community based social club run by a small committee of unpaid volunteers currently employing 6 members of staff. Patch repairs to the roof are the best we can do,

To try and accomplish this, we are putting a team together to tackle a 26 mile walking marathon relay to raise as much money as we can to complete the urgent repair works. We want to keep the Club open, safe and sustainable for years to come.

Absolutely anyone can get involved! The more walkers, the less distance for each participant. Bring the kids, bring the dog, walk, run, skip it is up to you how you choose to take part and you can stay as long as you want to.
