    Story

Nora's Bakery is located in the Tech region of Kumasi, Ghana. Set up by Nora Owusu Afriye after leaving one of Kumasi's orphanages, the bakery has struggled to reach its potential with a lack of initial capital to invest in bulk wholestore goods.

Nora's journey started in Togo where as a young 10 year old child she was forced to leave her home. Seeking safety, Nora crossed the boarder into Ghana and made her way to Kumasi where she was sheltered for a time by a church group before being transferred to a children's home in north Kumasi.

When Nora became of age, she left the home in the hopes of creating a viable business with the potential to employ other young people from the children' home, bridging the difficult gap of moving from an orphanage environment to independence with little support. Nora's dream is to create a stop gap for children and young people, teaching vocational skills and helping with the set up additional community based businesses.

Initial capital is needed to get Nora's bakery off the ground properly, to set it up as a viable business that can employ others leaving the children home, and teach basic bakery and business skills. Funds are required for shop repairs, repairs to the fridge and then bulk buy bakery materials.

From there, additional business ventures to support the orphans and young people leaving the home will be assessed to create a support network.
