Story

Bridgwater code club is run voluntarily every other Saturday morning in the town library . It is aimed at introducing boys and girls of 9 to 13 years in basic programming using a fun environment called Scratch.

So why am I fund raising ..

As a free activity we would, at a basic level, be able to provide progress cards and offer certificates as an acknowledgement of each child's achievements. Anyone who has used Scratch will know there is a great Rock Star project, this isn´t fun to complete in a library without headsets, to hear your band perform. The aim is to progress them to programming within Python and move to more interactive projects and robotics.

So, what am I doing to raise funds....

I am taking part in the Great North Run this is my first half marathon after, I only completed my first 10k race, last weekend. As a Northern living in the South West, I wanted to complete my first half, near and with family. My niece, Alicia is running with me.

Anyone with children can share with the knowledge that as parents we are always being asked to put our hands in our pockets and for a lot of families they are costed out of extra curriculum activities. I would like to see all children offered the ability to explore an interest, which might just lead to a life passion.

So, why crowd funding.....

Bridgwater Library is not a registered charity and doesn´t have a charity associated with it.

I hope I have managed to answer any questions you may have about and please don't hesitate to contact me, should you like to know more.

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and any donations will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Sarah x
