Story

University of Brighton UCU members are taking part in a Marking and Assessment Boycott as part of the national Four Fights dispute over pay, casualisation, inequalities and workloads. Management at the University of Brighton are threatening to deduct 100% pay for each day that members participate in our Marking and Assessment Boycott which started on 23 May 2022. This is a particularly hostile act from management, not least as we are still carrying out our other duties, and contrasts badly compared to some other institutions where deductions are just 25 percent or 30 percent. These deductions are due to be taken at the end of June 2022, and so we urgently need wider solidarity to keep our Four Fights dispute going.

How your donation will help

Losing pay isn’t easy for anyone. The funds raised will be distributed amongst striking members who are suffering particular financial hardship, focusing on those who most in need.

Thank you for your solidarity
