Story
Our friend Noah is one year old and has been diagnosed as Type 1 Diabetic. He is very brave and always has a smile even though the adults are always pricking his finger and making it bleed. As it is Lent we thought we would give something up to support Noah. We thought about giving chocolate up but we didn't really want to and anyway that's not much fun and doesn't capture the spirit of Noah because he is really fun. So we have decided to give up our time and do lots of challenges throughout Lent. We are hoping that lots of adults will sponsor us to do these challenges. We are asking all our mummies and daddies and all our friends and relatives and all their friends and relatives to give a little bit of money. It doesn't have to be much because we are only little and we don't even have our own money. If you want to give lots that's OK as well. We are going to use this money to help Noah and other diabetic children.
Tell everyone you know. Our teachers said we can reach everyone in the whole world. It's called six degrees of separation. Sounds a bit complicated to us so we are just going to have lots of fun and giggles (apart from when we do our 'keep quiet' challenges, which we are putting off as long as possible)

6 years agoHalf way to our target in only one week! Thank you for your amazing support. On behalf of the nursery our brilliant cook Gillian took on a challenge over the weekend while in the Lake District, she completed a 9 hour walk with help from her little friend Roxy! Brilliant effort.

6 years agoWe are off to such a great start! Thank you to all those who have donated. Today is world book day so the whole nursery have read all of our favourite stories including a book called Ivy and Iver meet Rufus. This is a story all about a teddy bear with type 1 diabetes, it helps to explain all the different things we see and hear when our carers are looking after Noah. The older children in bumblebee room have had a bit of a harder challenge, they had to stand on one leg for 10 seconds, they were a bit wobbly but did it very well

6 years agoTo start our fundraising activities for lent, we have begun decorating our Type 1 diabetes ribbons to draw awareness, we got very messy using our handprints and had a lot of fun working together to cover all of the paper!
