I've raised £1000 to provide Bright Stars PDN with a fully functioning defibrillator. Alongside this Bright Stars also wants to have a de-choker in the building

As a nation of individuals who are seeing a heavy increase in heart disease it is becoming more and more evident that defibrillators are needed in all buildings. It was stated recently that all primary and secondary schools should have defibrillators, however private day nursery's do not, we feel this is unacceptable and everybody that spends time in our nursery should feel safe and know that first aid tools are to hand if ever needed , that being for the children, staff, parents and visitors. All our staff are fully qualified first aiders and all our staff are confident in using defibrillators. Research has shown that if a defibrillator is used within the 1st minute of CPR needed the child / adult has a 90% chance of survival, where's as CPR alone offers a 6% survival rate.
As a nursery we have lots of young children in our care and we want to make sure they are given the safest and most effective first aid should they ever require it. We would appreciate every bodies help and support in this case and hope you all feel the same as us about having one set up in our nursery . On average they cost around £850.
This would then leave us enough money to purchase a de-choker, this device sucks out any debris a child is choking on, they cost around £85.00 and have a 100% success rate.
This is a long term crowd funding goal and we hope to have these in place by Autumn 2018, until then please rest assured all our staff are highly trained in 1st aid and know exactly what to do in an emergency situation. We do feel that having the correct, hi tech equipment to hand would definitely enhance our first aid and give all parents peace of mind.
We would love you to donate, any amount all adds up and counts towards the final goal.
