Story
In 2012, our cat Bugsy went missing and, afters weeks and weeks of desperately searching, we all but gave up hope. That is, until about a few months ago.
Out of the blue, we received a phone call one evening- on the other end, it was someone from the RSPCA Brent Knoll.
'Do you have a cat called Bugsy?' they asked.
We replied that, yes, we did, a long time ago.
'He's been found!' the voice responded.
You can imagine our excitement and confusion. We had given up hope of finding him- after all it had been almost seven years. Bugsy had been found living with someone less than a mile away- he had been living there all this time and was not being particularly well cared for.
Since then, we have moved to France with our three other cats, including Bugsy's brother, Muppet. Obviously, we wanted to bring him home. We had to wait a few weeks for him to have the necessary jabs, vaccinations and to receive his Pet Passport. As soon as we could, we booked a Ferry and went across to collect him. When we arrived at the Brent Knoll Animal Centre, he was there waiting for us (his cute little face hadn't changed a bit!).
We made the long trip back to our new home in France and he is now settled in, getting on well with the other three cats.
It is thanks to the hard work of the RSPCA that this was able to happen. Bugsy now gets to retire to the French countryside, living out the rest of his years happily with his brother, Muppet.
It was the fact that Bugsy was microchipped that we were able to be reunited.
With this page we are hoping to raise funds for the RSPCA, Brent Knoll, and to raise awareness of the importance of being microchipped.
