Story
Hello, I’m reaching out in the hope of raising £1,700 to bring my two beloved rescue cats, Tiggy and Mowgli, home to the UK from Thailand. After caring for them for over four years, they are scheduled to fly back on November 15, 2024.
Tiggy and Mowgli are more than just pets to me; they are my emotional support animals, helping me manage depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Rescuing them from the wild jungle of Krabi, Thailand, when they were just two weeks old created a strong bond between us. They give me a sense of peace and safety, and I believe they feel the same. When I had to return to the UK earlier this year due to health issues, Tiggy and Mowgli were not ready to travel, and I intended to return to Thailand this October to bring them back along with my remaining belongings. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this plan fell through. Now, they’ll be traveling with a flight volunteer.
Currently, they are staying at an animal clinic, which has already cost around £800 + £750 to get them flight ready—an amount I’ve worked hard to save. However, I was recently informed that their travel expenses will be an additional £1,650, which I need to pay within a week or two. Due to my limited income since returning to the UK because of my health, I am unable to cover this last-minute cost.
If I’m unable to meet this deadline, I may have no choice but to surrender them, which would mean leaving them to face life on the streets in Thailand. This is a heartbreaking thought, as they’ve become my family, providing companionship and comfort during difficult times. Any help towards reuniting us would mean the world. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and visiting my JustGiving page, any donation small or big will be grateful appreciated, as I would love to have my fur babies back with me.
Many thanks, Sophie
