I've raised £3000 to Help fund UK Scouts and those from less wealthy countries attend the 24th World Scout Jamboree, West Virginia 2019.

The theme for the 24th World Scout Jamboree is Unlock a New World. This theme speaks to the new adventures, cultures, and friendships that will be shared by Scouts from around the world during the 12-day event in North America, a continent often referenced as a “New World.” When Scouts join together to Unlock a New World, they give themselves the chance to start over as members of the global community and to work together for mutual gains that improve everyone’s situation.
As Scouts from around the world embark on their adventure to North America, they may encounter obstacles that appear to have no solution. Please don't let finances be one of these obstacles. Not all countries are as able to support their scouts as we are, here in the UK. At the 22nd Jamboree, in Sweden in 2011, the Kenyan contingent could not afford to fly so cycled all the way there. Their bikes were then auctioned to pay for the flights back. As the home of Scouting, the UK tries to support those less wealthy countries to enable them send contingents to the Jamboree.
Being one of the UK contingent, I am raising money, not only to help fund my own place, but also to support other Scouts from around the world to attend. I will be carrying out a variety of activities to raise funds, the first of which is to take on the Walk 1000 Miles challenge, walk1000miles.co.uk.
Anything that you can spare would be very gratefully received and, after the deduction of justgiving.com fees, all will be passed to the Scouts to support attendance at the Jamboree.
Thank you for your support,
Briony x
