Story
We are aiming to raise £15,000 for the Intensive Care Unit at Southmead Hospital by cycling from the University of Bristol to the Eiffel Tower in Paris on 18th September 2019 . That’s a massive 325 miles to cover in only 4 days.
Many of our team of cyclists are beginners, for whom the cycle to Paris will be a huge challenge. But nothing compared to the massive challenges faced daily by the ICU at Southmead Hospital.
The reason we picked Southmead is because one of our riders, Tim Sansum, recently lost his wife, Rose. During that difficult time, Rose was under the excellent care of the ICU staff.
The Southmead staff went over and above for Tim and his family, and we want to go over and above to support them in return.
No, we’re not asking you to jump on your bikes and pedal with us. What we need are the funds to make the trip possible so we can complete this challenge.
All of our riders have already donated money to go towards the cost of the trip, but we need to raise more to cover the overheads. Once the overheads of the challenge have been covered (ferry crossing, accommodation, the support vehicle and cycling jerseys), EVERYTHING else will be going to the Southmead Hospital Charity.
We just want to say a big (BIG) thank you for any support you can give us.
